Please fill out the form below so that we can verify your identity by sending you a text message via SMS.

If your account has been disabled, please either fill out the form below (we'll send a text message to your mobile phone), or <u><font color="blue">contact support</font></u> to restore access to your account without using a phone.</blockquote>

I was asked to verify my identity by sending activation code to my phone via SMS when I was registering a gmail account for my brother. I had this requirement a few months back, Google asked me the same thing as before. I thought it was just a fluke at the first time. Now, I'm sure it was a part of Google's requirements to prevent mass-creation of gmail accounts.

I will show you how to put your phone number in a correct format.
<a href="http://i851.photobucket.com/albums/ab78/ryan-isra/gmail-asking-phone-numer.png"><img src="http://i851.photobucket.com/albums/ab78/ryan-isra/gmail-asking-phone-numer.png" width="765" height="423"></a>

Select your Country, fill your <b>Mobile phone number</b> in the form, then click <b>Send activation code to my mobile phone</b>. Within few seconds, you will either receive SMS from Google or click <u><font color="blue">try sending it again</font></u>. After you received SMS from Google, get the code, type it in the next page, and click <b>Verify</b>.
<span id="more-238"></span>
<img src="http://i851.photobucket.com/albums/ab78/ryan-isra/gmail-ask-sms-code.png">

I put the format of my phone number like this: +62856xxxx47
Where +62 is International Dialing Code for Indonesia and 856xxxx47 is my mobile phone number :D
Actually, my mobile phone number is 0856xxxx47, but the 0 must be replace with your International dialing code.

<a href="http://www.kropla.com/dialcode.htm" rel="nofollow">Read more information about International Dialing Codes</a>

On the top page has been clearly written: <b>We sometimes required verification.</b>
So, it doesn't always ask your phone number for identity verification purpose and i don't know when will it ask for the next SMS verification. :D

Quote from <b><a href="http://mail.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=114129">Gmail Help - SMS account verification</a></b>
<blockquote>One of the reasons we're offering this new way to sign up for Gmail is to help protect our users and combat abuse. <b>Spam</b> and abuse protection are two things we take very seriously, and our users have been very happy with the <b>small amount of spam</b> they've received in Gmail. We take many measures to ensure that <b>spammers have a difficult time sending their spam messages, getting these messages delivered, or even obtaining a Gmail address</b> (spammers will often use many different addresses to send spam). Sending invitation codes to mobile phones is one way to address this, as the number of addresses created per phone number can be limited.</blockquote>

I think the cookies will affect whether you will be asked for such verification or not. So, I tried signin using existing account, signout again, then register new account.
I was wrong, Google did not ask verification.

Google might asking such verification if I register multiple accounts from same IP address, to prevent mass account creation from same IP address.
But I was wrong again, I have registered three new accounts with same IP address, but still no such verification.

So far, I conclude that this verification due to IP marked Spam. So, Google will verify every registration that comes from the Blacklisted IP or Spam IP. Just my two cents, because I do not know for sure. But a few things that I know, I use a dynamic IP, which is always changing, and many IP addresses are already blacklisted. Also, I often rejected on IRC network.<p>what most people search here: <b><a href="http://www.ryan-isra.net/sms-verification-gmail-registration/" title="Gmail registration">Gmail registration</a>, <a href="http://www.ryan-isra.net/sms-verification-gmail-registration/" title="Mobile number is not in the correct format">Mobile number is not in the correct format</a>, <a href="http://www.ryan-isra.net/sms-verification-gmail-registration/" title="mobile number is not in the correct format gmail">mobile number is not in the correct format gmail</a>, <a href="http://www.ryan-isra.net/sms-verification-gmail-registration/" title="gmail mobile number is not in the correct format">gmail mobile number is not in the correct format</a>, <a href="http://www.ryan-isra.net/sms-verification-gmail-registration/" title="Google Mobile number is not in the correct format">Google Mobile number is not in the correct format</a>, <a href="http://www.ryan-isra.net/sms-verification-gmail-registration/" title="gmail registration form">gmail registration form</a>, <a href="http://www.ryan-isra.net/sms-verification-gmail-registration/" title="mobile number is not in the correct format google">mobile number is not in the correct format google</a>, <a href="http://www.ryan-isra.net/sms-verification-gmail-registration/" title="gmail mobile registration">gmail mobile registration</a>, <a href="http://www.ryan-isra.net/sms-verification-gmail-registration/" title="please fill in the correct format phone numbers">please fill in the correct format phone numbers</a>, <a href="http://www.ryan-isra.net/sms-verification-gmail-registration/" title="mobile registration google">mobile registration google</a>, <a href="http://www.ryan-isra.net/sms-verification-gmail-registration/" title="The mobile number is not in the correct format">The mobile number is not in the correct format</a>, <a href="http://www.ryan-isra.net/sms-verification-gmail-registration/" title="Gmail register sms">Gmail register sms</a></b><p>Related posts:<ol>
