Only compatible SIM cards from a supported Carrier may be used to activate iPhone.

First way

1. Run iTunes 8.2 then connect your iPhone 3G to your computer using iPhone’s USB Cable.
2. In Device lists, select your iPhone
3. Click “Check for Update” button in Summary pane
4. Click “Download and Install“. Do not disconnect your iPhone until the update has finished.
If iTunes automatically detect new update for your iPhone, you don’t need to do those steps.
Second way
If you have slow Internet connection or you need to install the firmware offline, you can following these steps below:

Yesterday UPS courier came to my house to deliver my package, Apple iPhone 3G 8GB. But, a little susprised because they charged me 726.553 IDR (roughly 71 USD). Oh great, 50% more expensive than usually. Customs a.k.a Bea Cukai originally charge me 500k IDR for this item. No.. no… no… no more UPS
